Remarks: It's beleived a colony of lizards occupied an area next to a lake after an ash fall. The molted skin would be blown into the nearby water where it was preserved. One line of evidence for this is the fact the skin is always laid down flat without any indication of dessication. Reptile skins will curl around the edges when they dry out. There is only one small whole lizard found to date. All other skins are always partials.
