Price: $85.00
Remarks: While Elrathia kingii are very common, groupings like here are not so much. The real difference, however, is that these were professionally prepared with air abrasion in our lab. In contrast, most Elrathia being sold have been cleaned with a wire brush - ouch.
Three Large Choice Elrathia kingii Trilobites in Rare Proximity
Taxonomy: Trilobites Order Ptychopariida; Family Ptychopariidae
Geological Time: Middle Cambrian
Fossil Site: Wheeler Formation, Millard County, Utah
Size: 39mm, 32mm, 28mm on 90mm x 105mm matrix
Item: TFS082
Price: $95.00
Remarks: This is a excellent triple Elrathia plate. It's unusual to have three large, complete Elrathia so close together. They were found in a "bug puddle" in which the trilobites were incased in limestone, making them much more difficult to prepare. Those without pneumatic tools and a microblaster would either try to split these with a hammer, (which rarely turns out well), or throw them away. Most Elrathia are found in shale.
